I don’t understand how to follow her class! She says to feed then awake for 30min or so then nap but my 4 week old usually eats and is out for like 2 hours then wakes for a while then Asks for food. He is very unpredictable I don’t know how to follow it! Any tips please!

We are working through this too! My baby won’t last for the 3 hours between feeds so we have shortened to 2 hours, feed try and wake him up from the feed and sometimes he stays awake after now (takes a while to get there) quick play and then down for a nap and try and get him to independently fall asleep. Be flexible with your schedule to start and just try and get those feeds in and awake times so that you get a good sleep at night! It does take a while to get there though!!

She does explain that not everyone’s schedule will be the same. Maybe your feed/wake window is a bit different :) she also says the wake window is 60 to 90 minutes not 30. Just follow your babies cues like Cara talks about and you’ll get the vibe of what your baby needs!

try to do what you can to keep baby awake after they eat during the day to break up the eat and sleep cycle. This is so they don’t rely on eating to sleep. Even if it’s just changing their diaper or something to get them to stay awake for a couple minutes. It will start getting easier as they get older.
