Yes, waa just about to say another challenge after taking the Surbiton top Q seed and MD semi finalist, Olivia Gadecki, to 3 sets.

She is defending 12 ranking points from reaching QR2 here last year so in the short term these challenges may be a bit unhelpful. Go, Millie!

Yes, but this top seed is the young Czech girl whom Emily App beat - and who looked pretty unhappy on court - although maybe she's had a bit of practice, she'll be better now

But a better draw for Millie than some of the les well ranked others, that's for sure

Both Sonay and Beth needed wild cards which suggests they, very bizarrely, had not entered on the original qualifying lists, as Emily is in on her own ranking.

Sam is not showing as being a wildcard either, so she must still have a singles PR?

Have they not filled out the draw with a few onsite doubles players? Looks like one or two others may have got in as well although I dont know their ranking status !

None of our promising youngest in qualifying? Thought we might see them here, or is there a junior event/ITF event also going on in the country this week?

Naiktha and Millie are the other two wild cards.

Diatchenko appears to have no ranking, but she did retire from a match just over a year ago when she was ranked 250. Diyas is another one who appears to have been out for a year - she was 128 then. Until a full draw is posted by the WTA or LTA it won't be clear if they have SR or are on-site entries.

But who?

Hannah and Mimi and Mika couldn't play as they would have been expecting to be in Roland Garros - and they nearly were in the doubles, all three of them

It would have been daft to hottail it back to the UK, from clay, and be given a wildcard to a grass event a day later

And after those three, and with Hep seemingly injured, I'm not sure there's another player quite at the level, and better than Naiktha and Millie

I understand they couldnt play due to FO commitments. I am sure we will see them eventually..add a bit of sparkle to events. However there is always Emma to shine. Hopefully.
