Rev. Kloman F. Riggie
The Rev. Kloman F. Riggie, 64, of 17628 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Nov. 4, 1932, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Joseph Charles and Mary Helen Sackalosky Riggie Sr.
He was a 1947 graduate of St. Cecilia in Baltimore. He graduated from Loyola High School in Baltimore in 1951. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Mount Saint Mary's in 1956. Following graduation, he entered Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Baltimore and was ordained in 1960 for the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
His early assignments included service as associate pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park, Md., and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown beginning in 1966. He was chaplain to St. Maria Goretti in Hagerstown for five years. He also served at St. Ann Catholic Church in Hagerstown part-time.
In 1967, he was assigned by the Archdiocese as a chaplain in the Maryland State Correctional System. Over the next 25 years, his ministry included serving as Catholic chaplain at Maryland Correctional Training Center, Roxbury Correctional Institution and Maryland Correctional Institution. In November 1972, he became associate at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Halfway until February 1990. In October 1990, he became pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He was president, vice president and treasurer of American Catholic Correctional Chaplains Association; president, vice president and treasurer of American Correctional Chaplains Association; chairman of Maryland Correctional Chaplains; and board member of Central Maryland Catholic Charities Counseling Center.
He was a member of Washington County Ministerial Association, Washington County Council of Churches, Knights of Columbus Pangborn Council, and was chaplain of Catholic War Veterans, Joseph A. Davies Chapter.
He was a priest of the Archdiocese, and his duties included: Member of the Pastoral Council, Policy Review Committee, Central Maryland Regional Pastoral Council and Central Maryland Regional Council, and a convener for the Emmaus Prayer Support Priests Reflective Group.
He received the John Cardinal McCloskey Award on Oct. 9, 1995 by the National Alumni Association of Mount Saint Mary's College and Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md.
He is survived by one brother, Edward J. Riggie of Catonsville, Md.; five nieces; and three nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, with Archbishop William Cardinal Keeler as celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery in Emmitsburg.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., and at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Friday from noon to 7 p.m. A Christian wake will be held at the church Friday at 7 p.m.

Norman Raker
HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Norman "Jack" Raker, 45, of HCR 73, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996, at Fulton County Medical Center.
Born March 31, 1951, in Ayr Township, Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of Opal Welsh Raker of Mercersburg, Pa., and Charles Raker, also of Mercersburg.
He was a farmer.
He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Carol Layton of Lebanon, Pa., and Betty Lou Secrest of Edenville, Pa.; two brothers, Curtis Raker of Mercersburg, and Steve A. Raker of Buffalo, Wyo.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, Pa. The Rev. Floyd Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. For the convenience of friends the doors of the funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Charles E. Reynolds
SMITHSBURG - Charles E. Reynolds, 42, of Greensburg Road, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 25, 1954, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Eva C. Miller Reynolds of Smithsburg, and the late Elder B. Reynolds.
He was employed with Myron B. Reynolds Building Contractor of Smithsburg for 20 years and Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.
He was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Joann A. Muritz Reynolds; one son, Joel D. Reynolds, at home; one sister, Elise J. Wolfe of Smithsburg; and three brothers, Myron B. Reynolds and Kenneth N. Reynolds, both of Smithsburg, and Wayne Rick Reynolds of Greencastle, Pa.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ringgold Church of Christ. Don Conley, pastor, Tim Lester, minister, and Allan Smith, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Juanita B. Catlett
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Juanita B. Catlett, 82, of Route 5, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born April 1, 1914, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ella Butts Bowers.
She was a retired seasonal worker at the Farmers Market in Inwood, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband, Jack S. Catlett; five daughters, Linda G. Bowman of Hagerstown, Betty R. Puffenburger of Shanghai, W.Va., Lola J. Smith of Castalia, Ohio, Judy E. Baker of Martinsburg, and Gloria D. Willis of Deatsville, Ala.; five sons, James H. Myers of Waynesboro, Pa., Harry S. Myers of Hedgesville, W.Va., Paul J. Myers, Ronald M. Myers and Marlin D. Myers, all of Martinsburg; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Raymond E. Jones and the Rev. Oscar Motilal will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Helen M.G. Bouder
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen Marie Goodermuth Bouder, 85, a resident of Franklin County Nursing Home, and formerly of 87 W. Main St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at the nursing home.
Born April 24, 1911, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Katherine Eigenbrode Goodermuth.
Her husband, Charles Edward Bouder, died in 1982. They were married in 1934.
She attended Waynesboro schools.
She was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill and then Wise's Jewelry Store in Waynesboro. She was last employed at Gardenhour's Electric Co. in Waynesboro.
She was a member of Rouzerville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Goodermuth of York, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Beulah Halderman; and her twin brother, Charles L. Goodermuth.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Stuart Troutman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
There will be no public viewing.

Elden M. Grissinger
HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Elden M. "Bob" Grissinger, 72, of HCR 73, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at his home in Taylor Township, Fulton County, Pa.
Born April 18, 1924, in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, Pa., he was the son of the late Ernest and Bertha Cromwell Grissinger.
He retired in 1988 as a sheet metal worker. He also farmed.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Kidd from 1943 to 1946.
He attended Dublin Mills Community Church, Hustontown.
He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 19, Philadelphia; James W. Bowers Lodge 173 A.F.&A.M., Hanco*ck; Harrisburg Consistory; and Jaffa Shrine, Altoona, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Hess Grissinger, whom he married on Jan. 17, 1948; two daughters, Karen L. Long of New Grenada, Pa., and Amy J. Patterson of Maddensville, Pa.; one son, Stephen G. Grissinger of Dublin Mills, Pa.; four sisters, Helen Goschke and Mary Jane Graham, both of Beaver, Pa., Doris Shore of Brunswick, Ohio, and Virginia Hurd of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three brothers, Wayne Grissinger of Three Springs, Pa., Jack Grissinger of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Jerry Grissinger of Newark, Del.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Grissinger; one sister, Dorothy; and one brother, Sam.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Dublin Mills Community Church, Hustontown. Pastor Sam Stoey will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs, where military graveside services will be conducted by Fulton Honor Guard.
Friends may call at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, today from 9 to 11 a.m. and at the church today from 1 to 2 p.m.
Harold W. Fahnestock
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Harold E. Fahnestock, 84, of East Liberty Street, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 24, 1912, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Carrie E. Fennell Fahnestock.
His wife, Kathleen A. Bailey Fahnestock, died in 1992.
He was employed as a driver with the former Walters Taxi Co. in Chambersburg, retiring in 1974. He also was employed with Chambersburg Engineering Co., SKF Industries in Shippensburg, Pa., and the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.
He also was a member of AARP, a life member of Cumberland Valley Hose Co. in Chambersburg, and a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1599 Drum and Bugle Corps.
He is survived by three daughters, Pamela K. Fahnestock and Donna Cooper, both of Chambersburg, and Barbara Washinger of Camp Hill, Pa.; one son, Lawrence O. Fahnestock of Chambersburg; one brother, Oliver G. Fahnestock of Chambersburg; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one sister and one brother.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Pa.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Gwendolyn C. Talhelm Stoner, 82, of 424 N. Allison St., who died Thursday, Nov. 28, 1996, was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Talhelm and Dorothy Talhelm; five brothers, John Talhelm, Harold Talhelm Sr., Kenneth Talhelm, Melvin Talhelm and Lauren Talhelm.
